I must be missing a whole part of the world where people can pick up couple of screws, put them into a wall and use the back of the power strip cut outs for mounting it.

NOT one screw I have ever seen fits into these cut outs. Either the head is too tall or too wide or the head is cone shaped and doesn’t fit.

is there a particular screw or nail one is supposed to know to use with these?

It makes me angry they don’t supply couple of screws when you buy these.

Usually I just jam something in there and hope for the best.

Anyone know better way?

I think I use a #6 x 1" flat head screw. My father used to have a small wooden boat repair business so I grew up with a basement full of small boxes of expensive brass, bronze, and stainless fasteners. Ever since then when I find a size I use regularly, I buy a whole box.

I’ve fished around in my toolbox filled with leftover fasteners from various products that supply their own inadequate hardware and had some luck there, too. Hit or miss there.

Go to the hardware store and find something that fits the slot?

If I want to mount one, I’ve always just used strong double-sided tape. That’s pretty rare though. I don’t like damaging stuff.

Maybe I’m a neanderthal but I hang mine using thick nails and it has worked well.

This. Take the strip with you.

Even better, use one of the power strips already in stock at the hardware store to match it to the screws.

FWIW, pan-head screws will fit more easily than oval or flat-head screws.

Second this. Eithe3M trim tape for one I’m not moving any time soon, or three command strips for one that’s less permanent.

3m Velcro Command Strips. Can be removed without causing damage to the wall.

I mounted one recently with hex head screws, they were too big so I used a hammer to finish the job.

every adult needs at least one jar of misc. screws...you’ll always find what you need. I have around 6 different containers of misc. screws, hooks and other hardware things I’ll never need...until I do.

I also subscribe to the same theory with wires (HDMI, speaker, coax etc.etc.) with around 4 totes filled.

I’ve never even thought to wall mount  a power strip. All of mine live underneath furniture like my desk and tv stand.

This doesn’t help you, but when I was training at Charter years ago, we went to a woman’s house because her cable wasn’t working. The box was plugged into a power strip.... which was plugged into itself.

We didn’t charge her for the “ repair."

I have a box... huge box full of misc screws. None of them fit inside this hole for midget screws. .... midget screws... I would watch that... NEVER MIND!!!

so much commitment. What if they are not there? What if they don’t exist? What if I can only order them from gods of internet called amazon.

Based on these answers, there exists no screws that are usable. No one can find a screw that fits in. All power strips remain on the floor among a spaghetti   like bowl of wires

What could have possibly gone wrong. Electricity. Hammer. New circuit breakers and dry wall .

3M strips. It’s probably what I’d do anyway, why a hole for something this light?

I’ve thought about it and I revise my answer to 3M strips.

I do a little bit of cable management with velcro cable ties like this . Basically I just take up the slack in individual cables and try to keep them from tangling up with each other.

I’ve managed with some #6 Trim screws - they have smaller heads.  Also, use a photocopy of the back of the power strip to create a template of where the screws need to go :-)

Can confirm. #6 trim or wood screws work. There are other #6 screws with a tall head. They don’t work.
